Schedule Windows Disk Defragmenter - How to guide

Disk fragment is a very big problem that affects the speed of computer hard drive, we all know that once the drive get fragmented, we can use disk defragmenter tool to get it clean, however, if you don’t want to keep remind yourselves to do this task, you can schedule it to run automatically. It is quite easy to do so.


The default scheduled defragment time of Windows is every Wednesday at 1 a.m, if this time does not suit you, follow me here to get it rescheduled.

• Go to Start > Program > Accessories > system tool
• Open Disk Defragmenter (alternative way: type defrag in the search box from the start menu and press Enter)
• You can see there is a Configure schedule button in the defragmenter, click it.
• In the appeared window, you can modify the scheduled time or uncheck the box to disable the schedule defragment task.
• Click OK after you finish the settings.
